Stop the rumor mill: Camilla Belle insists she and Robert Pattinson are friends – nothing more.

Though recent reports hinted that the actress and the Twilight star, 23, had a date over drinks (with another unidentified woman) on Tuesday at New York’s Bowery Hotel, Belle insists that the evening was just a night out with pals.

“We have a big group of friends and we saw each other last night,” Belle, 22, told PEOPLE on Wednesday at The Whitney Contemporaries’ Art Party sponsored by BCBG Max Azria at Skylight in New York City. “[Pattinson] is very cool – a very nice guy.”

And when it comes to talk about her relationship with Joe Jonas, 19, with whom she stepped out for a romantic lunch in Los Angeles earlier this month, the actress plays coy. “That, I won’t comment on,” she says emphatically.

So, what does Belle look for in Mr. Right? “Someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously,” she says. “And confidence is very important.”
